Sandra Janine Munn age 68 passed away peacefully at her ranch home southwest of Mullen, NE, March 9, 2023.

Sandy was born on September 29, 1954, in Alliance, NE to Bob and Eileen (Easton) Merrihew.

She attended Swede Valley School and later Hyannis High School, graduating in 1972. After high school she attended Western Nebraska Tecincal College.

Sandy worked in Ogallala as a secretary at the Ogallala Hospital, she did “Yard Work” at the Sale Barn in Ogallala and was a secretary at the Hyannis Schools.

Sandy and Charlie were married July 17, 1976, in Hyannis. They were blessed with two sons and a daughter. Corey, Phil, and Marla.

She was a true rancher’s wife. Sandy knew her horses and cattle – from riding a green colt to pulling a calf if she had to. She helped put up a lot of hay for Bob and later for Charlie. She also fed a lot of hay for Charlie.

Sandy was an excellent cook for brandings and cattle work. If you went away hungry it was your own fault.

She dearly loved her grandkids, lawn work, did leather work, crocheting, knitting, quilting, and gardening.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Eileen Merrihew, mother and father-in-law John and Frances Munn, and a sister-in-law Marcy Merrihew.

Sandy is survived by her husband Charlie, daughter Marla, sons Corey and Phil, three grandchildren Haley, Justice, and Wyatt, brothers Jerry (Cheryl) Merrihew, and Neil Merrihew, nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends, including Dawn Lotspeich (special friend), relatives, and neighbors.

Memorials are suggested to Hooker County Ambulance Replacement Fund or Donor’s Choice.

Memorial services will be Friday, March 17, 2023, at 2:00 pm MT at the Hooker County Community Building in Mullen with Charlene Connell officiating. Inurnment will be in the Cedarview Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16th, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm MT at the Mullen Funeral Home in Mullen, NE. Govier Brothers Mortuary of Mullen are in charge of arrangements.
