Update: North Platte 14-year-old girl found; Kansas man arrested for kidnapping

**UPDATE: Gertie has been located and is safe. Thank you to everyone who helped spread the word and provided information.

Cameron Quintin, 26, Topeka, Kan., was taken into custody for kidnapping and violation of child custody. He is being held without bond. The North Platte Police Department was assisted by the Topeka Police Department, The FBI, and the Kansas Bureau of Investigations.

NORTH PLATTE —On Wednesday morning, 14-year-old Gertie Werkmeister — last seen wearing a light blue hooded sweat shirt and black sweatpants — left Adams Middle School and met with a white male dressed in all black in his mid- to late-20s at the Rec Center.

The two then left the Rec Center at 10:42 a.m. traveling eastbound on Francis Street in a dark-colored Toyota Tacoma with out-of-state plates.

The North Platte 911 Center has issued a citywide RAVE alert to all cell phones and land lines registered with the Smart 911 system. The North Platte Police Department, along with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office and NSP, are actively trying to locate Gertie.
