Man seriously injured removing stuck vehicle at Lake McConaughy

LAKE MCONAUGHY-A man was seriously injured at Lake McConaughy on Independence Day as a group tried to remove a stuck vehicle.

Keystone-Lemoyne Fire and Rescue said personnel responded to Martin Bay on the report of a man with facial injuries.

First responders arrived and found a man who had sustained serious facial injuries after a group tried to remove a stuck vehicle with a boat and boat trailer attached off of the new boat ramp at Martin Bay.

Authorities said the group was using a cinch strap to try to pull the vehicle out when the strap broke, went through the windshield, and struck a man in the face, causing serious injuries to his face.

The man was transported to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff by helicopter. His condition is unknown.
