The Alliance Arts Council is sponsoring a production by Peter Davison, from Boulder, CO, on Friday January 17th,  7:00 p.m. at the Alliance High School Performing Arts Center.

National Juggling Champion and kinetic comedian Peter Davison performs amazing juggling, balancing, unicycle riding, pratfalls and more.  And he reveals the science of motion behind the artistry. This show has received rave reviews from audiences of all ages! Peter brings everyday objects to live – as partners in a dance, or characters in a story.  A frequent audience response is “I’ll never look at the things around me the same way again!”

Peter was born in 1961 and raised in Santa Monica, CA.  Through his teenage years, Peter learned to captivate audiences by juggling and unicycling on the streets of Los Angeles, and in 1979 got a gig as a white-faced juggler in the movie Xanadu with Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly.  In 1982 Peter won first place at the International Jugglers Association Championships and then toured for ten years with the innovative troupe Airjazz, including an appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.  Since the 1990’s Peter and his company of animate objects have performed at festivals and theaters internationally and on the CBS, BBD and Fox TV networks.  Also an accomplished dancer and choreographer, Peter was Co-Artistic Director of Boulder Ballet for eleven years.

Reviewers of LocoMotion – The Science & Circus Arts Show have expressed “Peter Davison’s one man show makes for an enchanting evening… It’s one amazing bit after another, some tantalizingly brief, all brilliant.” – Dance Magazine.   And “Davison manages throughout to hold, captivate, and win an audience all the way.” – The Denver Post

Davison will be conducting a residency in Alliance 4th grade classrooms the week of Jan 13-17th and these residency students will have an opportunity to briefly join him on stage prior to the LocoMotion program.

Tickets to the January 17th performance are $10 Adult, $9 Senior, and $5 Student and are available at Carnegie Arts Center, Redmans Shoes and at the door.

Business co-presenters for the event are KCOW/Double Q Country Radio, Gregory’s Insurance, First National Bank, Western Nebraska Real Estate and Harris Sales.  Holiday Inn Express and Creative Tek have also contributed.
