The Alliance City Council made a final decision on hiring a new Golf Course Administrator on Jan. 21. Former Alliance resident Jared Palmer will fill the new role.
Alliance City Manager Jeff Sprock said it's been a long transition process for the city going from a Golf Pro to a Golf Course Administrator. The city has been looking to fill that position for almost a year.
"Palmer is a graduate of Alliance High School," said Sprock. "He has deep roots in this community and will be coming back with 15 years experience. We're really excited...the golf community is really excited to see Jared come back to our community. He's done some amazing things at Quarry Oaks, Iron Horse [Ashland, NE], and Hillcrest [Lincoln].
Sprock said Palmer has national accolades on his youth program. He added that Alliance desperately needs that type of program in the school system.
"We needed someone to help us develop our youth and get our youth really interested in golf. Palmer is great at that." Sprock said.

"She's learned a lot from Linda, and we've already seen lots of great things from Tarrah in some of the meetings that she's managed."
