Bayard- State Senator Steve Erdman, Legislative District 47, filed to run for his second term.

Erdman brings experience serving in the Nebraska Legislature for the past four years. While representing District 47, Erdman's most notable fight has been for property tax relief.  β€œIn my second term I plan to continue fighting for those who are excessively tax burdened,” stated Erdman. β€œMy first term has been successful in getting tax relief (LB512) for property owners who experienced property disaster in Nebraska over the last year.” He assures voters that he is not ready to give up the fight in his second term.

As a State Senator- Erdman has served in numerous committee positions, but nothing prepared him more for his term as Senator than when he served as a former County Commissioner and farmer. This is where the rubber hits the road for taxes, budgets- in short the heartbeat of local government. "Serving in local government prepared me to serve in the Legislature,"  Erdman stated. "I understand both local and state government and how one affects the other." He continues to serve voters by listening, talking and is always accessible. Erdman is pro-life, family and 2nd Amendment rights.

Senator Erdman and Cathy his wife of 49 years, live in Bayard.

They have three grown married sons and nine grandchildren.

The Primary will take place May 12, 2020
