Vera B. Carter, 87, died Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Highland Park Care Center.
She was born April 16, 1932 in Rosebud, South Dakota to Axel J. and Dorothy (Larson) Tyndall.
She married Larry G. Carter on June 20, 1952 in Kentucky.
Vera was the kind of mom that every kid dreams of. She always treated all of our friends like family and they wanted to spend time at our house because of her.
She was active and athletic in high school and had a job of some sort from the age of 14. She loved camping, spending time enjoying nature, and also loved supporting her kids and grandkids in all their sporting events, school activities and recitals.
She will be remembered by many for her quick wit, strong work ethic and unconditional love. We will be forever grateful for being such a wonderful role model and faithful friend.
She is survived by her sons, Ken (Ronda) Carter of Kingman, AZ, Bruce Carter of Lincoln, Mark Carter of Las Vegas, NV and Greg (Lisa) Carter of Alliance; her daughter-in-law, Sharon Wignall of Alliance; her grandchildren, Kasey, Craig, Daphne, Chad, Kyle, Brandon, Drew and Jared, and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Harlan (Betty) Tyndall of Chadron; her sisters, Vurene Jewell of Alexandria, LA and Jean Gaspers of Georgetown, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her granddaughter, Erica Carter.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Alliance Berean Church. Pastor Glenn Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
