Chadron State College has just announced in a letter from President Randy Rhine to students that "effective Monday, March 23, 2020 all Chadron State College academic courses, including those that were formerly taught in classrooms and face-to-face, will be accessed only through remote delivery for the remainder of the spring semester."

The school says campus will remain open, and that any students who choose to remain on campus should practice social distancing by keeping at least six feet away from others, and not gathering in groups of 10 or more people.

CSC residence halls, cafeteria, library, computer labs and academic support services will remain open.

Faculty are currently determining how to remotely deliver their courses, for example, via online video lectures, group classes with Zoom, or e-mail assignments.

The letter sent to students says faculty will be communicating with students by Friday, March 20 on how specific remote-learning methods will take place.

CSC canceling all events until April 14

From the school:

Effective immediately, Chadron State College is canceling all scheduled events until Tuesday, April 14, 2020. This social distancing includes any events sponsored by CSC that are open to students, employees, and the general public that occur on or off campus. These events include public demonstrations, campus visits or campus showcases, speaking engagements or public lectures, and intramural or group fit activities. A determination about CSC events occurring after April 14 will be announced no later than April 1.

If you have any questions about your event, please contact Conferencing at 308-432-6380 or the individual responsible for scheduling your event. If CSC or student committees wish to meet, they must occur virtually. For assistance, please contact Information Technology at 308-432-6311.
