By Gregory Yanker, City of Chadron
The City of Chadron has been monitoring various governmental agencies such as the World Health Organization (WHO, Centers for Disease Control (CDC, Nebraska State Government including the Governor’s office, Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS, Panhandle Public Health District (PPHD).
The CDC along with the Governor’s Office has updated their recommendation that groups of 10 or more should not gather, especially if the participants are arriving from other communities, which would increase the chances of the virus being transmitted into our community and participants then becoming infected and transmitting it back to their own communities.
While there are no confirmed cases in the Panhandle, in the interest of public safety and the safety for our employees, effective immediately Chadron City Hall will be restricted to employees only and limited to customers by appointment only for the next two weeks. Staff will be available by appointment, telephone or email should you need to conduct business. However, the preferred method to conduct business at this time is through telephone or email correspondence.
To make a utility payment several options are available:
-Drop Box Payment - Front of City Hall
-Payments Online (Credit/Debit Card) - https://www.chadron-nebraska.com/

Other City facilities that also remain closed to the public include the Police Department, Street Shop, Water/Wastewater Treatment Facilities, and Parks Shop.
