Maria I. Lopez Garza, 41, died Friday, March 20, 2020 at her home.
She was born September 4, 1978 in Alliance, Nebraska to Adolfo and Josefa (Garza) Lopez.
“For we live by faith, not by sight”, 2 Corinthians 5:7. That was Maria’s favorite bible verse and was something she lived by; no matter how difficult things would get or what obstacle she would face. She would always look at the bright side of things and know we would get through it.
Maria loved spending time with family and her very special friend Charity and her grandkids. She was a very kind person and very selfless. No matter what she was going through, caring for others was a very big passion of hers. She had a very special love of horses, boots and western wear. Maria was always up for an adventure with a smile on her face, ready to make you laugh. For these reasons and many more, she will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. Though she closed her eyes on earth, she opened them in heaven.
She is survived by her parents, Adolfo and Josefa Lopez of Alliance; her sisters, Josie (Jose) Garza, Belinda Lopez, Denise (Raul) Gomez and Maruka Lopez, all of Alliance; her brothers, Demetrio (Sulamit) Lopez, Adolfo, Jr. (Lucero) Lopez and Emmanuel (Renae) Lopez, all of Alliance. She is also survived by her grandfather, Reverend Dionicio Garza of Nuevo Leon, Mexico; her Goddaughters, Monica Evette Garza and Leslie Rubi Lopez, both of Alliance; 6 nephews, 13 nieces and other extended family.
Private family graveside services will be held at the Alliance Cemetery. Pastor Adolfo Reynaga will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
