CHADRON ― Chadron Community Hospital is updating visitor policies in response to Panhandle COVID-19 cases and the addition of Panhandle counties to the State’s Directed Health Measure by Gov. Ricketts. The updated restrictions are effective April 1, 2020. For the safety of our staff, patients and the public, these rules are in effect for all departments of the Hospital.

• All patients and visitors will be screened at the entrances of the Hospital according to CDC and Panhandle Public Health District guidelines.

• Visitors are limited to one individual per patient during the length of the stay.

• Visitors 18 years and younger will not be allowed to visit, unless they are a patient or parent of a patient.

Visitor screening questions are as follows:

• Have you had a fever in the past 24 hours?

• Have you had a sore throat in the past 24 hours?

• Have you had a cough or shortness of breath in the past 24 hours?

• Have you traveled outside of the region or had contact with someone that has traveled outside of the region?

• Have you recently been in contact with an individual with any of the above symptoms?

If the visitor answers “YES” to any of the above questions they will not be allowed to enter the facility. If they are seeking care, they will be required to put on a mask before entering.

To protect yourself from all respiratory viruses,

• wash your hands frequently with soap and water.

• avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

• stay home when you are sick or have a fever

• cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue then throw the tissue in the trash.

• clean and disinfect frequently touched objects.
