A private family memorial service will be held at a later date for James L. Prosser, 70, of Crawford, Nebraska.
James “Jim” L. Prosser passed away April 17, 2020, at his home in rural Crawford. Jim was born November 11, 1949, in Alliance, Nebraska, to Leonard and Helen Prosser.
He attended school in Crawford, graduating from Crawford High School in 1968. Following graduation he worked for Anderson Motor for two years before he enlisted in the Navy in January of 1970. Jim was Honorably Discharged in December of 1973, and retuned home to Crawford. He then work for Chubb Water Wells for a few years, and at the uranium mine outside of Crawford.
Jim purchased his own smeal and began his own well drilling business, Jim’s Well Service, while continuing to work at the mine. He eventually left the mine and began running his own business full time for many years working along side his son Brian. You could always count on a “Job WELL Done!”
He met Barb Czmoski and the couple was married at the Methodist Church in Crawford, instantly becoming a father to Billy and Brian. Jim and Barb added three children to their family Jason, Amanda, and Leonard. They later divorced.
Jim’s interests were golf, fast cars and woodworking. He took great pride in winning several awards with his fast cars and drag racing. His laugh was very distinctive and infectious. He was a Charter Member of the Crawford Eagles Club and served on the Golf Board for a short time. Jim will be missed by many.
Jim is survived by his children, Bill Prosser of Lincoln, Brian (Shauna) Prosser of Crawford, Amanda (Josh) Lager also of Crawford, and LJ (Zailey) Prosser of Brookings, SD; and six grandchildren Kyler, Tehgan, and Neleigh Prosser, Boone Lager, and Bentley, and Berkley Prosser. He is also survived by his brothers Dave (Sheila) Prosser of Raleigh, NC, and Emory (Jean) Prosser of Crawford, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son Jason, parents Leonard and Helen, sister Nancy Weedin, and uncle John Prosser.
