Aaron James Frohman was born April 1, 1975, to Terry and Deb (Valetski-Schnell) Frohman. He grew up in Bayard, where he attended Bayard High School and graduated in 1993. During his school years, Aaron was active in football, band, wrestling, track, and a wide variety of school activities. If something sounded like it might be fun, Aaron was all in. His enthusiasm for life and natural ability to connect with people reflected the attitude he carried throughout his life: he never met a stranger he didn’t like and believed you should meet someone as a stranger and leave them as a friend.
On October 1, 1994, Aaron married Sandy Marie Black. Sandy was pregnant with their unborn son, Tyler Frohman, when she, her toddler daughter Stacee, and unborn son Tyler were involved in a tragic automobile accident and passed away on December 1, 1994. Aaron carried their memory with him throughout his life.
Aaron later married Stephanie Marie Moss on August 20, 1999. Together they built a loving family and were blessed with three children: Keegan, Braden, and Brooklyn. Stephanie passed away suddenly on December 22, 2021. Through both joy and hardship, Aaron remained devoted to his family.
Following graduation from Bayard High School, Aaron worked at Progress Rail in Bridgeport for a short period of time and then began his career with the railroad. Through dedication and hard work, he advanced from being a brakeman to a conductor to an engineer. Being a railroader was a source of great pride and identity for Aaron.
Aaron had a passion for life and for the people around him. He loved fishing, boating, skiing, skidoo-Ing, hunting, weightlifting and social activities with family and friends, which included outdoor grilling and smoking of his specialty, smoked brisket. He especially enjoyed anything with an engine—motorcycles, cars, trucks, and boats—and took great pleasure in repairing and restoring engines and auto bodies. More than anything, he treasured time spent with his children, family, friends, and anyone he could visit with or entertain. Aaron’s personality was energetic, personable, magnetic, and forever young.
He is survived by his children, Keegan (Lesley), Braden, and Brooklyn Frohman, granddaughter Layla Pinkston, and daughter Lesia Monahan, his parents, Terry and Deb Frohman; his brothers, Adam Melissa) and Shonn Martin (Aggie); his mother-in-law, Jane Moss; sister-in-law, Renee Moss; brother-in-law, Ryan Moss (Stephanie); and amazing nieces and a nephew, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also remembered with love by many extended family members, friends, coworkers, and neighbors whose lives he touched.
Aaron was predeceased in death by his wife Stephanie Moss, his wife Sandy Black and children Stacee Mitchell and Tyler Frohman; grandparents Leo (Toad) and Mary Frohman and grandmother Dorothy; cousins Michael Klein, Tanner Henson, and Shelby Henson.
Aaron’s life included many challenges, but he will be remembered not by those challenges, rather by the way he lived—mischievously smiling and behaving his way through life, welcoming others with warmth, sharing laughter easily, and forming friendships wherever he went. His spirit, kindness, and love for people will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A visitation will be Tuesday, March 31 from 4-6 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home
Memorial services will be Thursday, April 2 at 10:00 a.m. at the Alliance Berean Church with interment in the Alliance Cemetery.
