Joanne W. Failor, 90, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Highland Park Care Center in Alliance.
She was born on October 3, 1929 in Alliance to Chester and Louise (Boness) Hawley.
On December 23, 1948 she was united in marriage to Bob Corp in Alliance. A daughter, Tarri was born to this union. Bob passed away in 1989. Later she would marry Ray “Ike” Failor on April 26, 1996. He also preceded her death, passing in 1998.
Joanne worked for many years as a bookkeeper with Alliance Tractor and Implement and later with Buchfinck Insurance and Real Estate. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Eagles, Auxiliary, Alliance Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and was active in bowling leagues.
She is survived by her grandson, Donald Cler of Hemingford, her brother, Marvin Hawley of Alliance and her sisters, Marilyn Risseeuw and Betty Morse of Eugene, OR and Dorothy Holthus of Mitchell, NE.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, Joanne was also preceded in death by her daughter, Tarri Honstein, her brother, Donald Hawley and her sister, Madelyn Kloke.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home. A graveside service will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Alliance Cemetery. Pastor Gideon Achi will officiate. The family suggests memorials be given to the Alzheimers Foundation.
