The City of Alliance announced on Thursday that Phillip Lukens has submitted his resignation as Police Chief of Alliance.&nbsp;

Lukens has held the position since Dec. 2020, and his resignation is effective beginning Sept. 15, 2023.

Lieutenant Kirk Felker has been appointed Interim Police Chief while the city completes their search for a new Chief.

Alliance City Manager Seth Sorensen issued a statement on Luken's resignation stating: "On behalf of the City of Alliance, we wish Chief Lukens the very best in his future endeavors."

As of this release, no reason for Lukens's resignation has been made known to the public and he has not issued a statement on his resignation at this time.
