Chadron residents arrested on drug charges

On December 14, 2023, officers with the Chadron Police Department, the Dawes County Sheriff’s Office, and the WING task force served a warrant on a residence in Chadron after the Chadron Police Department received information that electricity from NPPD was being unlawfully directed to the residence. During this search, a scale and baggies containing a white powdered residue were located. A second search warrant was sought and obtained for controlled substances.

During the second search, items associated with the consumption of methamphetamine and heroin were discovered as well two types of suspected controlled substances which tested positive for methamphetamine and heroin. Both 38-year-old Andrea Bode and 33-year-old Brenton Daniel were developed as suspects based on evidence obtained at the residence.

Bode was later arrested and held at the Dawes County Jail for Child Abuse, a Class IIIA Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class IV Felony, two counts of Theft of Services valued less than $500, a Class II Misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, an infraction. Her bond was set at 10% of $50,000. Daniel was arrested and held at the Dawes County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class IV Felony and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, an infraction. His bond was set at 10% of $30,000.

A minor child was discovered to reside in the home with Bode and was placed into Department of Health and Human Services custody after Bode was arrested.
