NDOT Releases April Traffic Fatality Toll

LINCOLN, Neb. — During the month of April 2026, eleven people were killed in traffic crashes on Nebraska roadways, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

- These 11 fatalities occurred in 10 fatal crashes

- Three of the ten vehicle occupants killed were not using seatbelts, five were using a seatbelt, and two had seatbelt usage marked as unknown.

- Nine of the fatalities were in rural locations*

- There were zero fatalities on the interstate, seven on other highways, and four on local roads

- One of the fatalities was a motorcyclist
