William T. “Bill” Smith, 64, died Thursday, August 25, 2022 at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, CO.
Bill was born March 19, 1958 in Alliance, Nebraska. He spent his childhood in Alliance and graduated from Alliance High School in 1976. Following graduation, he worked in various jobs before starting his career with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway. After nearly 40 years of service, he retired from the railroad in 2018.
He was an avid volleyball fan, enjoying all kinds of volleyball and participated in leagues throughout the area. He especially enjoyed watching Husker Volleyball games.
Bill’s nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews were his pride and joy. He had a big heart and was always willing to lend a hand while he was able.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen M. Cameron.
As per Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place and memorials may be given to the Alliance Berean Church, 1639 Emerson Ave., Alliance, Nebraska, 69301.
