With Fall harvest underway in Western Nebraska, WESTCO announced that their new tire center opened on Monday in Alliance. Petroleum Division Manager Jess Wimmer describes how the new building came about.
"We've been working on the new building for about 15 months since the fire happened in June of 2020," Wimmer said. "We wanted to build a building that was a little bit more accessible for our customer base; definitely get more semi-trucks and larger equipment in there with a focus on the AG and commercial customer in that regard."
There was a lot of effort to get the new building ready and Wimmer explains that there were a lot of moving parts, including a lot of contractors that helped build the building. Other efforts included employees working through weekends to get everything ready for the opening.
The new building is located at 1630 W. 10th Street in Alliance, and while the public is encouraged to come to the building now, Westco is also planning for a grand opening around Nov. 1.
