Susan Irene Forsstrom, beloved mother, grandmother, wife passed away on March 31, 2021 at her home.
She was born April 16, 1944 in Rockland, Maine to Robert and Anna Power. She married Larry Forsstrom on January 15, 1966 in New London, CT.
She earned her RN degree from Joseph Lawrence School of Nursing in New London, CT. Susan and Larry moved to Lincoln, NE where Susan worked in the neonatal unit at Lincoln General Hospital. Their daughter Anna was born in 1971 in Lincoln, NE. Soon after the birth of their daughter, Susan and Larry moved to Alliance to be close to family. She continued nursing at St. Joseph Hospital in Alliance and then BBGH.
Susan never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She always made sure to send out a beautiful card with specially placed stickers on the envelope, and an extra little note about how much she loved you.
She is survived by her husband Larry Forsstrom of Alliance, NE. Daughter Anna and Glen Schild of Rapid City, S.D., grandchildren Nathan and Jacob Schild of Rapid City S.D., sister Loretta and Mike Debolt of The Dalles, OR., sister-in law-, Sharon Griffith and Jeff Cole of Alliance, brother-in-law Mark Forsstrom of Osceola, IA., and best friend Catherine Peterson of Hot Springs, S.D.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, sister Maureen Power, mother-in-law Anna Forsstrom, and brother-in-law Jerry Griffith.
No services will be held as requested by Susan.
Memorials may be given to Panhandle Human Society.
