Maria T. Gonzalez, 68, died Monday, July 20, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born June 8, 1952 in Los Ramones, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Luciano and Bernarda Garza.
She married Antonio Gonzalez, Jr. on February 17, 1974 in Los Ramones, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Maria had lived in Alliance for over 34 years. She worked as a migrant worker for 22 years and as an aid at Head Start for 8 years. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Antonio Gonzalez, Jr. of Alliance; her children, Antonio (Leta) Gonzalez, III of Alliance, Juan Carlos (Angela) Gonzalez of Alliance, Alejandro (Melissa) Gonzalez of North Platte, Emmanuel Gonzalez of Alliance and Jose Jesus “Joey” Gonzalez of Alliance. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, Thalia, AJ, Jayden, Desarae, Dominic, Cruz and Oaklynd; her brothers, Artemio Garza and Renato Garza both of San Juan, TX; and her sister, Maria de los Angeles Garza of Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Raul and her sister, Dora Hernandez.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 24, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Father Tim Stoner will officiate. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Wake services will be held Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home and continue at the wake service.
Memorials may be given to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
