OGALLALA, Neb.-Officials with the City of Ogallala are taking a proactive approach to the wildfire season, canceling their public fireworks display and banning the discharge of fireworks within the city limits.
Officials announced this morning that the public fireworks display slated for July 4 will not take place.
Officials also said that the discharge of fireworks within the city limits will not be allowed. Typically, residents are allowed to discharge fireworks from June 25 to July 4.
Residents who made donations to the public fireworks display can request a refund in writing at:
