The Alliance Volunteer Fire Department battled a semi fire on Saturday, Oct. 12. The fire started at 12:14 a.m.

"Upon arrival of our crew, they encountered a fully involved semi tractor and trailer on fire," Alliance Fire Chief Troy Shoemaker said.

"They [firefighters] initiated a fire attack using the deck gun on the fire engine after connecting to the nearest fire hydrant."

Chief Shoemaker told Panhandle Post, they had six firefighters on the scene of the fire.

"Once the fire was controlled, we requested the State Fire Marshal investigator out of Ogallala to conduct an investigation into the cause of the fire," Shoemaker added.

The Alliance Volunteer Fire Department clear the scene at 2:32 a.m. on Saturday.
