Michael X. Kosmicki (1940 - 2022)

Michael X. Kosmicki, 81, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, NE.

He was born in Loup City, Nebraska on November 22, 1940 to Frank and Cashmere Kosmicki.    He graduated 1959 from St. Agnes Academy.  Mike then served in the U.S. Army Oct. 1960-1962 in the 18th Airborne Corp.

He was a member of United Union, Holy Rosary Catholic Church, American Legion and Eagles club.  He worked as a trainman for Burlington Northern for 34 Years.  He enjoyed the countless fishing trips with all his brothers and trips to Black Hawk, CO with his niece. He also loved to tinker with anything needed fixing. Michael always ended every visit with “See you next trip.” He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.

Michael is survived by his daughters, Jenelle Kosmicki and her husband, Jeff Howell of Springfield, MO and Julie and husband Joe Williams of Marionville, MO and two grandchildren, Jordan Williams and Amber Lacey of Marionville, MO. He is also survived by his brothers, Jerome (Norma) Kosmicki of Grand Island, NE, Don (Karen) Kosmicki of Overland Park KS, Father Ray Kosmicki of Grand Island, NE, David (Mary) Kosmicki Greeley, CO, his sisters, Alice Dirks of Greeley, CO and Bernice Smith of Grand Island, NE and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Cash Kosmicki, his two brothers Zigmond and Anthony (Tony) Kosmicki and his sister, Blanch Galusha.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Matt Koperski officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military honors.  The Rosary will be recited at 9:15 a.m. prior to the Mass.

Memorials may be given to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
