BROKEN BOW, Neb.  — Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol have conducted alcohol compliance checks in Custer County.

During the afternoon and evening hours of Wednesday, Dec. 10, investigators conducted compliance checks at several businesses in Custer County. The businesses included convenience stores, grocery stores, restaurants, bars and liquor stores.

In total, ten businesses were checked. Eight of those businesses refused to sell alcohol to a minor for a compliance rate of 80 percent. All ten businesses checked the minor’s ID.

Businesses that sell alcohol to minors are referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. Clerks who sell alcohol to a minor are cited for procuring alcohol for a minor.
