WESTCO has announced 15 area scholarship recipients for the 2025 WESTCO Scholarship Program, from 11 high schools within the WESTCO trade area. Each recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship to further their education.
The scholarship committee awarded these scholarships based on criteria, which included academic performance and a written essay. The WESTCO Scholarship Program is one of the many ways WESTCO supports our region’s youth and we wish these recipients a successful and bright future.

Recipients include:
- Benjamin Connell of Hyannis High School. Benjamin is the son of Zane and Susan Connell and plans to attend Colorado School of Mines to study Mechanical Engineering.
- Blaise Lange of Sioux County High School. Blaise is the daughter of Joleen Falkenburg and Bryan Lange and plans to attend Sheridan Community College to study Health Science.
- Bryson Bickel of Chadron High School. Bryson is the son of Vince and Mary Bickel and plans to attend the University of Nebraska – Lincoln to study Agribusiness.
- Emily McCune of Alliance High School. Emily is the daughter of Darren and Glenda McCune and plans to attend Creighton University to study Accounting.
- Frederick Wyatt Sauer of Mitchell High School. Frederick is the son of Scott and Chelsea Sauer and plans to attend Chadron State College to study Rangeland Livestock Management.
- Gavin Bell of Hemingford High School. Gavin is the son of Chad and Valerie Bell and plans to attend the University of Nebraska - Lincoln to study Animal Science.
- John Maser of Gering High School. John is the son of John and Beth Maser and plans to attend of the University of Nebraska – Lincoln to study Business.
- Josie Sanders of Alliance High School. Josie is the daughter of Tom and Teresa Sanders and plans to attend Texas Tech University to study Animal Science.
- Kyra Jespersen of Hemingford High School. Kyra is the daughter of Derrick and Cassie Jespersen and plans to attend the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture to study Agronomy.
- Louden Bremer of Lingle – Ft. Laramie High School. Louden is the son of Doug and Abby Bremer and plans to attend Casper College to study Agriculture Business.
- Seth Meyring of Alliance High School. Seth is the son of Jay and Shauna Meyring and plans to attend Connors State College to study Animal Science.
- Sophia Pitts of Mitchell High School. Sophia is the daughter of Mario and Kristy Pitts and plans to attend Laramie County Community College to study Animal Science.
- Talan Smith of Hay Springs High School. Talan is the son of Lynden and Alisa Smith and plans to attend the University of Nebraska – Lincoln to study Ag Business.
- Tessa Little of Bridgeport High School. Tessa is the daughter of Jenny Stuckey and plans to attend the University of Nebraska – Lincoln to study Veterinary Science.
- Wyatt Feddersen of Gordon-Rushville High School. Wyatt is the son of Court and Traci Feddersen and plans to attend Eastern Wyoming College to study Ag-Business.
