At around 12:30 a.m. on July 26, Officer Orsborn and K-9 Sukey were patrolling and observed a minivan travelling westbound on Highway 20, without headlights or taillights on. Orsborn conducted a traffic stop on the minivan and during his contact with the driver, Officer Orsborn detected the odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle.
Officer Orsborn deployed K-9 Sukey and a search of the motor vehicle was conducted locating several items of drug paraphernalia, along with approximately 1 gram of suspected methamphetamine and residue amounts of marijuana.
As a result of the traffic stop/investigation, the driver of the minivan, 25-year-old Kasandra Thunder Hawk was placed under arrest and transported to the Dawes County Jail for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
