Burwell, Neb. — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol are continuing efforts to maintain safe roadways around community events this summer with four special operations this week and weekend.
“Some of Nebraska’s biggest summer gatherings are happening this week and our troopers will be ready to help keep Nebraskans safe as we all enjoy our local traditions,” said Colonel Bryan Waugh, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “Our troopers are members of these communities. They’ll be on patrol all week to keep roadways safe around these events, but we’re also calling on our neighbors, friends, and everyone celebrating to always drive sober.”
Troopers will be working overtime around several events this week, including Nebraska’s Big Rodeo in Burwell, the Buffalo County Fair, the Lincoln County Fair, and the Webster County Fair. The special efforts started on Wednesday, July 22, and run through Monday, July 27.
These operations are made possible thanks in part to grant funding from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
