NSP releases details on Highway 385 head-on crash north of Alliance

The Nebraska State Patrol has concluded their investigation on a head-on vehicle accident on Highway 385, north of Alliance. 

At approximately 6:20 p.m. on Jan. 12, Alliance police received a report of a crash on Highway 385 near 25th street. The Alliance Police Department and Nebraska State Patrol responded to the scene.

"Investigation shows that a Hummer H3 was southbound on Highway 385 when it crossed the center line and struck a northbound Chevrolet Suburban," Nebraska State Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas said. "The Suburban had six occupants at the time of the crash. The driver, Rosemary Lopez, 51, of Alliance, was transported to Box Butte General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other occupants suffered minor injuries at most and were not transported to the hospital. The driver of the Hummer was Kalen Nedella, 24, of Crawford was transported to Regional West Medical Center with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries."

A third vehicle, a Honda Pilot struck debris from the crash and suffered damage as well.

Highway 385 north of 25th Street was shut down for an extended period of time. 

Nebraska State Patrol has recommended charges of driving under the influence for Nedella.
