Starting Feb. 5, 2023, Nebraska Lottery players will be able to purchase Double Play®, an add-on feature that gives players another chance to match their Powerball® numbers for cash prizes up to $10 million.

Double Play is an optional feature that players can select to add to their Powerball or Powerball with Power Play® tickets for an additional $1 per play. With a Powerball Double Play ticket, you play the same set of numbers for the main Powerball drawing and the Double Play drawing on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights.

The price of a regular Powerball play will stay at $2 and the odds of winning remain the same. Additionally, the Power Play feature will continue at $1 per play. Tickets can be purchased with Power Play and Double Play for $4 per play. However, the Power Play multiplier will not apply to Double Play prizes.

“There are many details yet to be determined, but we are excited to add Double Play to our product lineup,” said Brian Rockey, Nebraska Lottery Director. “We think our players will appreciate the opportunity to win additional cash prizes using their same Powerball numbers. Plus, a portion of every ticket sold goes to support good causes across Nebraska.”

Double Play was launched in August 2021 and is currently available for purchase in 14 lottery jurisdictions. See powerball.com for more information.

Powerball is a multi-state jackpot game currently offered by 45 state lotteries, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands. Proceeds from the sale of Nebraska Powerball tickets benefit the environment, education, the Nebraska State Fair, and compulsive gamblers assistance. Over $893 million has been raised for the Nebraska Lottery’s beneficiary funds since the Lottery began in 1993. All 93 counties in Nebraska have benefited from projects funded with these Nebraska Lottery proceeds.
