Work Will Begin on Multiple Nebraska Highways

GERING, Neb. — Weather permitting, work will begin Sept. 8 on Nebraska Highway 250 (N-250), from reference post 13.38 to reference post 26.10, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Werner Construction, of Hastings, is the contractor for this project. Work includes asphalt paving, culvert replacement curb and gutter, flumes, and grading and seeding. Traffic will be maintained with lane restrictions, a pilot car and flaggers and temporary traffic signals. A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect. Anticipated completion is Oct. 2026.

Weather permitting, will begin work on the bridges along Nebraska Highway 71 (N-71) on Sept. 8, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Work will be on northbound and southbound bridges over U.S. Highway 30 (US-30) over the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) and northbound and southbound bridges over Lodgepole Creek. Work will include bridge deck and approach repair, deck surface treatment, and pavement lifting.

Iowa Civil Contracting is the prime contractor and Contractor Services, Inc. will be performing the traffic control. All traffic will be controlled by lane closures. Anticipated completion is 25 working days after project start.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up and put phones down.
