Evan Gaige Allen-Mader, 20, died Monday, October 26, 2020 at Ascension Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. He was born March 6, 2000 in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Freeman Allen, Jr. and Jessica (Mader) Allen.

Evan lived most of his life in Garden City where he attended school. His Junior year of high school, Evan attended school in Caney, Kansas. He then attended his senior year and graduated from Ogallala High School in Ogallala, Nebraska in 2019. Evan then attended Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska and Cowley County Community College each for 1 year. Evan also worked as a package handler for Fedex while helping father at ICT Tree & Landscaping. Evan was an avid sports fan and loved participating in all sports, but his main passion was playing basketball. He also loved dancing, music, making people laugh, and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his mother Jessica & husband Ray Hull of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; his father Freeman & wife McKenzie Allen, Jr. of Wichita, Kansas; two brothers Zayden Allen of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Trindon Allen of Wichita, Kansas; a sister Rylie Allen of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; grandparents Tom & Lori Herrell of Garden City, Kansas, Freeman Allen, Sr. of Columbus, Mississippi, and Angela Scheve of Amarillo, Texas; his great-grandmother Carolyn Kinney of Garden City, Kansas; and many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Cornerstone Church in Garden City, Kansas with Pastor Raul Silva officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours. The family suggests memorials given to the Garden City Family YMCA or to the Garden City Recreation Center, both in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
