Adabel Lundy passed away March 30th at the Highland Park Care Center in Alliance, Nebraska at the young age of 88.
Memorial services will be Saturday, September 24 at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Alliance. Rev. Gideon Achi will officiate and burial will be in the Hay Springs Cemetery.
She was born March 13, 1934, in Port Orchard, Washington to Floyd Maxson Mix and Minnie (Jorgensen) Mix. She grew up in Hay Springs, Nebraska.
On October 25, 1953, she married Alvin Lundy in Hay Springs, Nebraska and together they had 5 children: Doug, Brian, Gaylene, Bruce and Jeff. They moved to Alliance in September 1956. She met a lot of friends in Alliance some of which would meet at Dairy Queen for coffee every morning at 10. She rarely missed a day to have coffee and they gave her the nickname of DQ mama. She loved her family and enjoyed the visits or calls from them. She was an avid daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Alvin Lundy of 68 years and children: Brian (Lori) Lundy, Gaylene (Earl) Doyle, Bruce (Joyce) Lundy, and Jeffrey (Rebecca) Lundy. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and brother Francis Mix and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; infant son Douglas; and siblings Maxine Bodey, Vetta Dahman, and Tommy Mix
Cremation has taken place and memorial service will be held at a later date.
