Marvin Glen Underwood, 85, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away March 11,2022, at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home in Hot Springs, SD.
Marvin was born September 22, 1936, in Alliance, NE to Edward and Lillian (Robinson) Underwood. He and Marcene Long were married in 1959 and to their union 3 children were born. Marvin proudly served in the U.S. Navy until his honorable discharge in 1956. Marvin’s career as a brakeman and conductor with C.B & Q. railroad, later to become BNSF railroad, spanned 39 years.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Marcene of Hot Springs, SD; daughters, Lori White of Alliance, NE and Debbi (Butch) Goodro of Custer, SD. Son, Jeff (May) Underwood of Kansas City, MO. 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Marvin will be remembered by his family for his strong and abiding faith in our Lord and Savior.
Committal services, for the immediate family, will be held in the near future at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD, with full military honors presented.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Hot Springs, SD.
