ALLIANCE, Neb. – Alliance Cemetery Staff would like to inform the public that work will begin on April 13th to prepare the Cemetery grounds for Spring mowing and maintenance. As part of this seasonal work, items left on graves over the winter will be removed to allow for safe and efficient upkeep of the grounds.
Clean up activities will also include removal of unsightly items such as artificial flowers, holiday items, glass containers and other non-permanent decorations. Families wishing to retain personal or sentimental items are encouraged to remove them prior to clean up activities on April 13.
Staff will keep some items that are in good shape for a while, but those items will eventually be disposed of. This annual cleanup helps ensure the cemetery remains safe and well maintained for all visitors by enabling efficient mowing and trimming throughout the growing season.
The City of Alliance appreciates the community's cooperation and understanding. For questions regarding acceptable decorations or clean up procedures, please contact the Knight Museum and Sandhills Center at (308) 762-2384.
