There was some rain across the Panhandle on Monday, Gary Stone is the Nebraska Extension Educator for the Panhandle Research Extension and Education Center, he says that the moisture was much needed for the crops as the season starts to wind down. He also says they are in decent shape as well.
"Crops are doing well, they're starting to wrap up, the beans are starting to turn in some places," Stone said. "Growers should keep their crops watered up; we got two weeks to get water on the crops, so I'd say stay on top of it."
The estimated crop water use is based on data gathered and calculations made by Nebraska Extension personnel.
