CRAWFORD, Neb. — Residents and visitors are invited to put on their treasure-hunting hats as Heritage Seed in Crawford kicks off its new “Seek the Seed” promotion, offering participants the chance to find a hidden Golden Seed and win $500.
The treasure hunt will take place throughout Dawes County, with a new clue released each week until the Golden Seed is found. Clues will be shared on Double Q Country and Panhandle Post, with additional hints available at Heritage Seed.
The idea for the promotion came from Heritage Seed owner Jason Hauser, who recalls the excitement his family experienced when his mother won a treasure hunt contest in central Nebraska years ago.
"I still remember how excited my mom was when she found the prize,” Hauser said. “That memory stuck with me and inspired this promotion. I wanted to create something that would get people out exploring the beauty of Dawes County with their family and friends. If you're the one who finds the Golden Seed, bring it into Heritage Seed and we'll hand you $500. More than anything, I hope this creates memories and brings people together.”
Participants are encouraged to search throughout Dawes County and enjoy the area's scenery and local businesses along the way.
Businesses throughout Crawford are looking forward to the added foot traffic and have teamed up to make the promotion even more exciting.
In partnership with Double Q Country, Heritage Seed, Hauser Grab and Go, Herren Brothers and 2nd Street Bakery will give away a pair of tickets to see Luke Bryan at The Monument in Rapid City on July 30. Those searching for the Golden Seed can register exclusively at the four participating businesses for a chance to win.
“We're excited to bring people into Crawford and showcase everything our community has to offer,” Hauser said. “Whether you're hunting for the Golden Seed, grabbing lunch, filling up the tank or enjoying a sweet treat, we hope folks take the time to explore and support our local businesses.”
The Golden Seed remains hidden somewhere in Dawes County. The search will continue until it is found, with additional clues released weekly.
