El Ramo Restaurant opened for business in Alliance recently. They serve authentic, homemade Mexican food.
"We bought this place on Flack Avenue," El Ramo Manager Mayra Gallegos said. "We bought this place not knowing what we were going to do. We wanted to move La Villa [Gallegos former restaurant] over here, but it was not possible so we just came up with our own name. Luckily, everything turned out the way we wanted it. We had planned to open not until September 2022, but everything turned out nice so we could move here sooner."
El Ramo opened on Jan. 17.
"El Ramo Restaurant is actually the name of our town in Mexico," Gallegos said. "We are from El Ramo de Guadalupe, Guanajuato. That's how we came up with the name. We're really excited. They did renovations to the place. They added a lot of details to the restaurant...to the dining area. And of course, the kitchen they also did a lot of renovations. We are so thankful with the people of Alliance for supporting our business. We're hoping to just stay here for a long time and hopefully good things come."
Panhandle Post asked Gallegos how the new location will benefit the restaurant.
"It is a good location because we're right on Highway 87," Gallegos said. "3rd Street was a good location too, but Flack Avenue a lot of people drive through so it's a good location."
