Shirley J. Cuckler, 93, died May 29, 2023, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler. She was born June 14, 1929, in Chadron, NE, to Walter and Amanda (Martens) Dobbins.
Shirley graduated from Chadron High School, Chadron, NE. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting, and fishing at the lake. Shirley was a talented seamstress, even making bridesmaid and flower girl dresses. After her husband, Boyd retired, they wintered in Mission, TX, where Shirley learned the game of golf. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.
On September 18, 1949, she married Boyd A. Cuckler, in Chadron, NE. He died March 29, 2014, after they shared almost 65 years of marriage.
Shirley is survived by: daughters, Deborah Siebert (Richard) of Hutchinson, and Cheryl Leigh Odell (Chris Hamlin) of Russell; grandchildren, Danae Wallace-Gates (Darrell) of Overland Park, Shawn Dressman, and Justin Whitt (Michelle) both of Hutchinson; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Rylee, Reis, Brayden, Jocelyn, Brooklyn, Ava, and Jonah; brother, Clayton Dobbins of Fort Worth, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by: her parents; sisters, Lucille Haley and Helen Redfern; brother, Richard Dobbins; granddaughter, Sherry Ann Richardson; and son-in-law, Conrad Odell.
Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2023, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W 4th Ave, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
