Marilyn J. Mracek passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at Highland Park Care Center. She was 93 years of age.
She was born on November 5, 1932 in Alliance to Willard L. and Hildegard (Mertz) Donovan.
Marilyn and T-Bone were married for 29 years. After the divorce they spent many years traveling to casinos and Calcutta's to buy their favorite team. For many years Marilyn worked at the Alliance Golf Course and Iron Horse. Marilyn had many interests but especially enjoyed reading, taking care of her flowers and plants, playing Bingo, and recently became a color book artist. Her interests in sports and her grandchildren took her to as many of their sporting events as she could attend and was an avid and infuriated Denver Broncos Fan. One of her greater joys was listening to her family singing and playing in their band
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Vicky Taylor, Peggy and Steve Miles and Stephen “Pork Chop” and Cindy Mracek all of Alliance. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Eric (Leslie) Burback, Kristy Obermiller, Dr. Kory (Russ) Knight, Lee (Elizabeth) Fritzler, Mark (Erin) Fritzler, Jared (Melissa) Mracek and Morgan (Casey) Mracek and her great-grandchildren, Kade Burback, Ericka Myer, Kyla Walker, Reece Knight, Kaitlyn Shrewsbury, Jonathan Fritzler, Dyson Fritzler, Jaxon Fritzler, Harper Fritzler, Holland Fritzler, Grady Mracek, Laiken Mracek, Brayden Mracek, Hadleigh Mracek and her first expected great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, T-Bone Mracek, her siblings, Don Donovan, Pat Manning, Carol Walters and Becky Stewart and her son-in-law, Corky Taylor.
Memorial services will be Thursday, September 24 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel. Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Alliance Old Timers Baseball.
