Barbie Applegarth is the Coordinator of the Box Butte County Fair Contest, and she commented on how the event went this year. "It's always a great event, always very well attended. I've been a part of this since I was the fair queen 41 years ago and my daughters have both been royalty so it's something that is really special to me," Applegarth said. "To see these girls come out, and get in front of the crowd, perform, talk, and model, they are all winners."
