Posted Jan 11, 2024 5:41 PM

Lana Loy Chappell was born June 20th, 1948, in Gordon Nebraska to Byron & Aloha Chappell.  She spent her young life helping her parents with ranching duties.  She went to school in Gordon.  In 1967, Lana married Vern Owen, to this union 2 children were born, Jerry Dean & Tawnie Dylawn.  They later divorced and she moved to Gordon and began working at Hinn’s Restaurant.

While living in Gordon, Lana met and married Ed Holderness.  She then went to work at the Gordon Nursing home, where she worked for many years as a CNA helping take care of patients.

In the late 1980’s Lana & Ed divorced, and she moved to Hereford, Texas where she managed the Ranch House Café for 20 years.  Lana loved her time in Texas, however when her parents needed her help, she moved back to Gordon to help take care of Byron and Aloha. Lana worked at Gordon Elementary School as a cook and loved her job dearly, her favorite part was of course the kids.

In her free-time, Lana enjoyed reading her Bible and fixing up her house room by room until it was just the way she liked it.  She also dearly loved working in her yard and making sure every gnome and flower was in place to make it look in order. Lana was called to be with the Lord on January 6th, 2024, at Gordon Memorial Hospital.

Although Lana is no longer with us on Earth, she is also no longer suffering.  We will forever remember her in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Aloha Chappell and Nephew Tyler Chappell.

Lana is survived by her brothers, Burdette (Lila) Chappell of Kearney, NE, Travis (Terry) Chappell of Berthound, CO, and Mitch (Belinda) Chappell of Huntsville, AL; her children Jerry (Minette) Owen, and Tawnie (Tom) Eichenberger; her Grand-children Austin (Sarah) Keiser, Tucker Keiser and Tristen Owen; and great-grand-children Emma, Allie and Beau Keiser; along with many nieces and nephews.
