NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-A North Platte teen was crowned as Miss Nebraska's Outstanding Teen on Friday night.
The title went to Alexandra Thompson.
The Teen competition was held in conjunction with the second night of preliminary competition for the Miss Nebraska contestants at the North Platte High School Performing Arts Center.
Thompson, 14, graced the stage with a vocal rendition of "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston for her talent portion of the competition.
Thompson received a $2,000 scholarship and numerous gifts and perks. She also received funding for wardrobe and traveling expenses when she competes in Miss America's Outstanding Teen, which will be held in Dallas on August 10-12.
Thompson will be a Freshman at North Platte High School next year.

Finals Night for the Miss Nebraska Competition is tonight beginning at 6:30 at the North Platte High School Performing Arts Center.
