NEGT votes to accept NRPPD as member, begins in 2024

On Tuesday, the board of Nebraska Electric Generation and Transmission Cooperative (NEGT) voted to accept the Northwest Rural Public Power District (NRPPD) as their 21st member.

A press release by NRPPD states that they intend to sign an all-requirements wholesale power supply contract with NEGT, to deliver power and energy starting on May 1. 2024. 

NRPPD is based out of Hay Springs and serves 3,300 accounts and over 1,900 miles of line in the Panhandle of Northwest Nebraska that includes Dawes, Sheridan and Cherry Counties.

Chance Briscoe, General Manager of NRPPD says that NEGT has a strong reputation for advocacy for its members. "Northwest Rural is excited to become their newest member," Briscoe said.

The contract between NRPPD and NEGT runs through 2035.
