On October 22 at approximately 1:11 p.m., Scottsbluff Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle motor vehicle injury accident at the intersection of Hwy 26 and E 27th ST.
The investigation determined a black 2018 Ram pickup driven by Juan Munoz, 24, of Torrington, WY., and a red 2009 Toyota Prius driven by Adam Sanders, 35, of Scottsbluff, NE. were involved in the accident.
The Ram was southeast bound on Hwy 26 and the Toyota was west bound on E 27th ST prior to entering the intersection. Witnesses stated the Ram failed to stop at the red traffic signal for Hwy 26 traffic and entered the intersection where it impacted the passenger side of the Toyota.
Three occupants of the Toyota suffered minor injuries. Munoz was issued a citation for the traffic signal violation.
A portion of the intersection was closed for approximately one hour.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to damages and are total losses.
