OMAHA, Neb. — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested a Georgia woman after locating 130 pounds of suspected methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in eastern Nebraska.
Saturday, at approximately 6:45 p.m., a trooper stopped an eastbound Nissan Altima for speeding on I-80 near mile marker 440. During the traffic stop, the trooper became suspicious of criminal activity. A K9 with the Papillion Police Department detected the odor of a controlled substance coming from the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle revealed several trash bags in the trunk, containing suspected methamphetamine. The total weight was 130 pounds.
The driver, Iesha Smith, 47-years-old, of Smyrna, Georgia, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. She was lodged in Sarpy County Jail.
