Alliance Arts Council to host musician Joey Gulizia

The first Alliance Arts Council event of 2025 will be a performance by musician Joey Gulizia entitled “An Evening with Joey G” on Friday January 24th. Gulizia will also be working as an artist in the elementary schools the week of January 20-24.

Gulizia is a multi instrument artist performing familiar tunes with a tropical twist. Joey is a native of Omaha, NE where he has played music professionally since the age of ten. Mainly playing percussion and woodwinds, he can be found in many musical situations and environments. Joey has performed concerts in all 50 of the United States, many countries in Europe and also Japan. While performing on over 30 cruises, he has gained first hand knowledge of the music from many cultures.

Joey has been a featured artist with the Omaha Symphony, Nebraska Jazz Orchestra, Nebraska Brass and countless other musical groups including his own. Joey tours with Mannheim Steamroller.

Mr. Gulizia will be conducting an in-school residency in Alliance 4th grade classrooms the week of January 20-24. These 4th grade students will have an opportunity to join Gulizia on stage for a portion of the Friday night event to showcase what they have learned during the week. Gulizia will then go on to present his solo performance.

Business co-presenters for the school residency and the public performance are FNIC, FNBO, Harris Sales, Western Nebraska Real Estate and KCOW/Double Q Country Radio. The programs are presented with the support of the Nebraska Arts Council and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment.

Tickets for the Friday night performance are $10 Adult, $9 Senior, $5 Student (preschool admitted free). Tickets are available at Carnegie Arts Center, Chamber of Commerce and at the door. Doors open at 6:00.
