SCOTTSBLUFF, NEB.) — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol, with assistance from the Scottsbluff Police Department and Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office, apprehended two minors following a pursuit in Scottsbluff.
Monday evening, NSP was alerted that Scottsbluff PD officers were looking for a vehicle that had been reported stolen. At approximately 10:10 p.m. MT, a trooper attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, a Mercury Mariner. The driver accelerated and fled on residential streets in Scottsbluff. The trooper initiated a pursuit.
The vehicle continued to flee on residential streets, running through multiple stop signs. At the intersection of 14th Street and 4th Avenue, the vehicle failed to make a turn and struck a tree. Two occupants fled on foot, while a third occupant remained at the scene and was taken into custody without incident. The driver of the vehicle was located a short time later and take into custody by the Scottsbluff Police Department.
