Chadron police release 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over' results

The Chadron Police Department recently participated in the annual Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign event this holiday season, between December 16, 2022 and January 1, 2023

This year between December 16 and January 1, the Chadron Police Department, through grant money provided by the NDOT, increased the number of officers patrolling in the Chadron are. Those officers were able to focus on searching for drunk and impaired drivers. The event was a success in that there were 33 total contacts made with the following outcome:

16 warnings for head or tail light infractions, 6 speed warnings for 6-10 mph over the speed limit, 1 citation for 11-15 mph over the speed limit, 3 stop sign violation warnings, 2 citations issued for no operator’s license, 1 citation issued for minor in possession of alcohol, 1 warning for illegal u turn, 1 citation for no registration in vehicle, 1 warning issued for failure to yield right of way, 2 arrests for driving while intoxicated (alcohol only), and 1 warrant arrest.
