CHADRON – Chadron State College will host several events honoring Martin Luther King Jr. starting with an honorary march on Monday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. The march will begin at Common Cents at the intersection of Main Street and Third Street and proceed south on Main Street to CSC’s Student Center.
Following the march, the Belongingness and Inclusion (B&I) Committee will host refreshments and a brief presentation by Dr. Kurt Kinbacher in the Student Center Ballroom.
At noon, the Chadron High School Cardinal Singers will present Hamilton in Memorial Hall. Ticket information is online.
Continuing the activities, music faculty and students will present a jazz concert Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.
On Thursday, at 5 p.m. in the Chicoine Center, the campus and community are invited to watch the women’s and men’s basketball teams compete against Westminster.
Starting Jan. 13, the B&I committee will partner with the CSC Food Pantry on a food drive. Those interested in donating can place non-perishable, non-expired food items in collection boxes and wagons in Sparks Hall, Crites Hall, Old Admin, the Chicoine Center, or the Math Science Center of Innovative Learning.
